Brain Teaser - Needs Statistical Proof!

In a debate with family member over this teaser:

There are 3 doors you can choose from with a prize behind one of the doors.

After you choose your door, a 3rd party tells you which of the other two remaining doors the prize is not behind, then offers you the chance to switch doors, should you switch?

Perhaps the reasoning will become clearer if the numbers are changed:
Suppose there were 100 doorsÂ…Your chance is 1/100
98 empty doors are removed...

Would you swap your 1/100 for 1/2?

That's not the choice. The choice is 1/100 for 99/100.
