you have the numbers 1,9,4,8 in this order, you need to use them in that order (what means you can't do this : 9+1+8-4 because its not in the right order whereas 1+9+4-8 is in the right order) and get the numbers: 51, 52 and 58.
you can use roots, factorial, +,-,ª,º, () and Exponentiation(for exampe 1^9 +4+8=13).
for example, if I need the number 56 than: (1+√9)!ª√4+8=56 is one way to get it.

1+9+ (4! times the cube root of 8) = 58

cube root is not legal, only one root.
writing 48 is wrong of course, you need mathematical between them.
