Ruby is kind of cute though. I love the second picture with Mo smiling -
he's such a handsome boy.
From the pics, Ruby appears to have been a well-fed lil doggie!
I think Ruby has found herself a new home.
Cleobelle has that stance, and the broad chest and thick neck of a bull dog, just as this dog does. I also agree that this little joker didn't miss any meals. I'd suggest a measured diet and lots of exercise.
A boy and his dog.
They're inseparable.

Did you ever see the 1975 motion picture
A Boy and His Dog? It's an early Don Johnson role, a minor cult film. Not quite what most people would think of with such a title, though.
I found Ruby's people!!!!

loved the book(?) (novelette), the film not so much
Ruby looks like an over-clipped, over-fed Eskie (she could be one of my dogs except for the over-fed bit).
Glad you found her people. She wouldn't like the diet we'd put her on.

Without looking it up, is that the one that's set in the future, and people eat each other or something?
I remember Don being in a really grubby war torn area, but then was in some stepford wives town.

Bummer . . .
**************
Djjd, i have only seen the motion picture . . .
sorry..
thats kind of an ugly little dog..
Boomer--
What's the story with Ruby's family?
It is kind of a bummer but it's also really good.
Turns out Ruby is 15 years old and a much beloved family pet. The people were freaking out that she was gone. They have no idea how she got so far away.
They still never got my phone messages. Turns out something was wrong with the phone, or something. They had called the county to leave a new phone number in the file and learned that someone had looked at it yesterday but they couldn't track me down that way. The kids found the note on the door today and they will be picking Ruby up this evening.
Mo is really broken-hearted but I think when they come to pick her up and he sees how happy they all are to be together that he'll be fine.
what would be cool would bew if the cute old couple showed up to get the dog and Mo walked out caryying it... covered in blood and dead... and said "If I don't get to keep it no one does bitch".... it probably wouldn't seem too funny at the time but in years to come would make an hilarious story for familly gatherings and parties

it's a harlan ellison story
Oh! I remember that movie!
The dog talks or that talk telepathically or something.
At one point the guy is quizzing the dog or the dog is quizzing the guy on presidents:
"Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Kennedy, Kennedy, Kennedy, Kennedy"

that's the one, the dog was a telepath
if done right it would be a good film to remake, maybe a tim burton style thing
<phew>
I didn't like Ruby's people much at all.
