A Pajama Party! That's it! Yes! That's what we need to do! Idea

We've talked about having an all-girl A2K get-together. I can just see it now. You, Mame, along with shewolf and Chai and JPB and me and Diane and BBB and Osso and squinney and boomerang and ehBeth and...well, all the rest!

We could stay up late and eat ice cream and tell secrets and everything. But...how can we get all these gals together in one place?

I know! I'm gonna go start a thread right now.............

It would be an all-girl party, so you wouldn't have to be lady-like.

Thomas is sort of a surprise. I've met him twice. Online he makes me sort of fear-shiver for his analytic abs (abilities); in real life he is a major teddy bear. But maybe he was just sleepy...

On listening, Thomas' English speaking is very... Californian. I had no problem ever.

No, I think he is the same straightforward, level-headed guy in person, he seems to be on these threads. If I am not mistaken he lived for a time near the Davis campus of the University of California, & that explains his excellence in English and Californian aspect.

I wonder how all that works for him in New Jersey?

I didn't know Realjohn had hearing difficulty.. damn, wish I'd known.

"Osso was another that really threw me for a loop. I think I made her uncomfortable staring at her trying to take all of her in for what she was instead of what I had pictured. In my head I had the idea of a librarian... boring.. stick in the mud.. quiet.. sort of fly on the wall kind of personality.
How I came to that conclusion? Clueless.. but I could not have been more off the mark."

Shewolfie, honey, I have poor peripheral vision. I didn't notice you were doing any staring.
Before you plotz, it's always been this way for me, and my periph vision hasn't changed since it was first diagnosed in '88, and from my own observation not for the previous forty years either. Might have been a birth defect, per a certain med center. Just that for me to see you staring involves various head turns, which I'm not doing if I am trying to listen (my hearing is prob worse than vision).

I'm plenty loud and obnoxious in a smaller group in daylight.. Trust me.

ob1, "sweet" is not a word most people would think of applying to me. And I guess I do have a Cdn accent - but it's not really noticeable Smile

I said sweet, not wimpy or easily pushed around. In fact you are notably stubborn and independent, ... as I discovered when I left the restaurant at our meeting. Hell, even Calamity is sweet sometimes.

He's a gentleman. He's intelligent. I love reading his posts. He's quiet and quiet-spoken. Doesn't put himself forward. Doesn't give himself any airs. He's very agreeable company. And he's a very interesting person. I was delighted to spend the day in Santa Fe with him and osso. Very enjoyable time.

Well, we didn't have an arguing tiger in either Chicago or here, in my experience. I know he is a superb arguer He did speak up reasonably from time to time, sleep deprived as he was.

But, these meetings really aren't about arguing, are they? I haven't been to one with an arguing tiger. Could happen, I remember some major argument times of my uni years... but not so far at meetings. Not the point.

You're lucky, George. Mame and I never got along, in fact we hated each other. The road trip to Santa Fe was sheer hell for both of us, and I think for Osso too.

Back to voices.

Cicerone. I'd know his voice on the phone - I think - but can't just pinpoint it. Fairly fast, at least in contrast to RJB.

Roberta - is Roberta.

Paola, whom most of you here didn't ever get to know.. I think I would recognize her voice. Elegant with Roman.

Yeah, the real Thomas emerged that day, didn't he? He's a thieving con man. Imagine taking the food out of osso's mouth and then eating another plate of his own! And then, I had to pay for it! He "forgot" (how convenient!) his wallet! Ha. The nerve of some people. I was so glad to get back to the ranch and get away from that guy. He intimidates me.
