Friend with benefit brings in a whole wad of problems if you ask me. Of course I admit to being a bit old fashioned. I'm okay with that. But I do believe that there is benefit in overcoming drives when they are merely for drives sake. Self-control is quite sexy in my opinion. Certainly not what those fellers were aiming for though - I'm pretty sure anyway.

Maybe he was 'celibate' in Morrissey's sense of the term - that is, unwillingly celibate. Like what I am. I don't know whether sexual activity is inversely proportionate to intelligence, but I do find I have more luck with academic work than with women.

Shyness doesn't help, but it does make it easier to concentrate on your studies if you spend a lot of time on your own, so that could have been the missing link in tesla's case, whoever he was. Shyness = plenty of oppurtunity to concentrate on learning, very little oppurtunity to have sex.

I am not clear whether the "celibacy" being discussed here means being asexual (as Tesla is alleged to have been) or whether it includes such things as having lewd thoughts, using prostitutes, going on dates with "Mary Fist" etc.
