The trigger seems to be when people within the house talk to each other.

There are days when removing the trigger would make me the happiest girl on the planet, I really like quiet, but it really isn't practical for us to just stop talking.

We are initiating a no-contact while spinning policy. We'll see if ignoring him completely doesn't help him kick the habit.

any other sounds set pup off?

Maybe it is a reaction to a painful sound?

actually.. I should not say SOUND.. but tone.

my hearing is GREAT except when there is a TV involved.
That high pitch whine? That most people only notice for a second.. or goes away once a tv is warm? Never leaves my ears. It is obnoxious, distracting and can interfere with conversation for me at times..

what if pup is having some kind of reaction to a vocal tone?

does he get antsy when someone in particular talks?
Or specifically when a combination of you guys talk?
Maybe .. just you and Mo? Or Mo and MrB ?

If the sounds of our voices interacting are driving the dog crazy we will have to make some changes in his housing! I love the nutty boy but he is just the dog.

Kidding. He's here to stay even if he spins his life away.

The smoothy idea has possiblities! Maybe I could get him cast on one of those chocolate milk commercials....

Honestly Boomer, I don't think it's anything to worry about. It might be a little annoying but I don't know that it's doing any harm.

How is this working out?

As I recall the DVD's, there's at least one spinner on Season 1 - it might be worth seeing if you can get the DVD's from the library - or at least the Dog Whisperer's book.

When the little doggie girl is playing "pig," or "bear" or "The Girl's shoe" (i.e., she attacks and "kills" the stuffed pig, or the stuffed bear, or The Girl's shoe), she always reaches a point at which she is so excited that she spins.

Does he wag his tail when someone talks, and that gets his attention, then he chases the tail?

Even if that is the case, not sure how identifying that wiould help?

Will he sit, if asked, mid-spin?
