Hi all, My first post, hope you can help me find these famous people from the 20th century.
Cryptic clues and the numbers are the letters in the name.
1/ Thinner musical instrument. 4,5.
2/ Musician with spice and dough. 6,5.
3/ Flower, Mans name. 4,5. Thought it might be Lily Allan but shes more 21st century!!!
4/ Photographer/Costume designer, 5,6. Thought it might be David Bailey but is he a costume designer?
If you would like me to post some of the ones I got (without answers) for you to ponder over please let me know.

Welcome to able2know, malt51.
I believe number 4 is Cecil Beaton.
Hi ehBeth,
Thanks for that one, just googled Cecil Beaton and he's got to be the one.
Just 3 more to go!!!!
Mal
I thought # 2 could be Johnny Cash, but the numbers don't add up.
Actually # 3 could be Pink Floyd.
Have just got number 2, do you want me to reveal?
Sorry for teasing!!
Ginger Baker (drummer with cream)
The "thinner musical instrument is really bugging me
Ginger Baker - gosh yes, I remember him - at one of his concerts, he was
so drunk, he couldn't perform at all.
There was a group once - Thin Lizzy, but that's not it.
A thinner musical instrument would be an electrical guitar, right?
I remember Thin Lizzy, good group, Phil Lynot was lead singer.
I was thinking along the lines of Slim somebody, but have never heard of Slim Piano or Slim Organ etc
There was someone called "Guitar Slim" but that doesn't fit.

For "Thinner Musical instrument" try "Lena Horne".
("Lena" pronounced with a Boston accent would sound like "Leaner" which is a synonym for "thinner".

)
Oh fishin, You've saved my sanity, it seems so obvious now
Thank you
Just the Flower/mans name to go (Unless it is Lily Allan)
The Flower/Man's Name could be
Lily Perry too.
Of course it could be a famous "Rose" or "Iris" too...
How about Axl Rose? Oh no, that doesn't fly with the numbers.
Lena Horn was a great find, fishin.
