Individual Mince Loaves

I'm trying to find the name of a beef dish cooked in the oven and shaped into individual loaves. I had them everywhere from Queensland to Victoria. I don't need the recipe as they are like our yankee meatloaf only in individual servings. Thank you.

Meatloaf is what I would call it. I've never had it as individual servings though.

I cant think what else it would be called

The good old German Frikadelle/Danish frikadeller is in reality from Australia

The Australian rissole is generally made from minced meat and pan fried, without a pastry covering, but sometimes with breadcrumbs.

Many variations of frikadeller exist but traditionally they are made of ground pork, veal or beef, chopped onions, eggs, milk, bread crumbs, salt and pepper, formed into balls and flattened somewhat. They are then pan-fried in pork fat, or more commonly in modern times in butter, margarine or even vegetable oil.

You are all right and thanks to everyone who was able to figure out what I was talking about. Seeing the many different ingredients in the recipes you sent, I see why I didn't embrace them. I'm more of a crabcakes girl if you have a recipe for those. I was about to do my nana!

so no frikadellen or bouletten in germany before the "discovery" of australia - that's disappointing ! Laughing

i always preferred a good , oldfashioned "deutsches beefsteak" (made of top-grade , lean minced beef - but without those toppings , please !) anyway .
i sure hope it was "discovered" before "the discovery" of australia

Hahaha dadpad .... yep, that's what I call them to, but they sure are a tasty meal, and then cold on sandwiches next day. Actually they taste better next day.
