those three foot cedars i planted last spring are putting up a valiant struggle !

I've been in the backyard a couple of times through the front end of this storm - brushing snow off a very skinny 8 foot cedar - and pushing it back upright.

i like to start them small and toughen them up - tough love around here .
small transplanted cedars seem to survive much better than the larger transplants .
neighbours that planted six-foot cedars , found that the winter sun damaged the cedars badly - turned brown and had to be pulled out .
