Then come to Melbourne, edgar! Often we experience every season in a single day! We're famous for it! Laughing

Sigh.

EASTERN LAKE ONTARIO
-----------------------------
PLUS 6 C (43 F) AND the sun was shining while we went for a walk through neighbourhood .
there is hope after all  - though we'll likely get some more snow before the weekend .
snowbanks are a good 2 feet high - but beginning to melt - sap rising in the maple trees .

A front brought some rain, yesterday, as it laid down a mass of cold air. It's 35 out there, right now. But, that's minor, for the trees are already green and the grass is getting high. The banana trees are showing new growth, as are the giant elephant ears.

Temperature today will be in the low 50's with rain and rain and rain.

Rain is better than snow. Rain is better than snow. Rain is better than snow.

It got back in the 70s, until this afternoon. Then it rained very hard, and we lost power for about two and a half hours. Tomorrow's high temp is said to be about 49. Goes to show, it ain't over til it's over.

Definitely not. It's what ..March 6th. So far for the month of March here in Ohio, we've had a flood, albeit minor. We had an ice storm after that. Now we have a snow storm comin in tomorrow and Saturday dumpin 8 - 12 and layin the winds on it to shake it up real good.

I keep sayin Spring's around the corner. But I'm gonna keep my mouth shut from now on.

Despite minor setbacks, spring is the prevailing season here. The plant life has decreed it so.

Yeah I talked to a friend of mine up in Canada this evening and he said he went out to buy a snowblower and all he could find were gardening tools and patio furniture. Razz

Holy cripes! It started raining yesterday, and getting cold. I had to board up a broken window in it, from high on a ladder, in the deepening dusk. Went home to three hours of no electric. And, you know what happens to the water in my neighborhood when that happens? That's right, the water pump shuts down and loses its prime. It has to be restarted by a worker, who lives in another part of town. No water, until this morning. Went to work to a misty sleet and a random snowflake. But, it got kind of nice in the late afternoon. Jeebus crispness!

despite minor setbacks - such as a bit of sunshine - , winter is still the prevailing season here Shocked
it started snowing here at around 6 pm and by the time it's supposed to be all over - sometime sunday - , there'll be a foot to a foot-and-a-half of the white stuff on the ground .
we'll just pull the comforters over our heads and stay in bed Laughing
as long as the electricity doesn't get knocked out , we'll be alright .

btw i believe the stuff that we are getting as snow , is the excess rain that you refused to accept in texas - no fair , edgar !

the snowfall is reaching all the way from the U.S. border - it's coming across at niagara falls , even though canadian border services had been instructed to refuse admittance .
it'll blow out over the atlantic provinces by sunday/monday .

I don't envy the snowy regions. I do love visiting those places, but don't want it on a daily basis.

Snow is not so bad, but the accompanying temperatures usually related to such phenomenon is exceptionally irritating.

Round two of the weekend's snow "event" has kicked in. It was supposed to start in the early afternoon, but apparently they couldn't hang on to it in the Carolinas.

The dogs are happy. I'm not unhappy. Setanta's tucked himself back under the covers Laughing
