Are you going to any functions, dp?
No margo It's too much expense for fuel to travel to Melb for a food event. Besides it much nicer up here than the city. We have a harvest festival sometime in the near future at one of the wineries. That'll do me
And in place of lowing cattle, I can hear the fiendish rattle
Of the tramways and the buses making hurry down the street,
And the language uninviting of the gutter children fighting,
Comes fitfully and faintly through the ceaseless tramp of feet.
And the hurrying people daunt me, and their pallid faces haunt me
As they shoulder one another in their rush and nervous haste,
With their eager eyes and greedy, and their stunted forms and weedy,
For townsfolk have no time to grow, they have no time to waste.
Likewise - and I live in Sydney.....
nice to see a bit of Clancy, though!

I havn't seen him for a while. Think he's gone adroving down the Cooper where the western drovers go.
So have Australians ever seen the commercial with Paul Hogan that promoted tourism? He basically invites all us Americans to Australia by telling us he will "throw another shrimp on the barbi" for us. It actually created an American trend to BBQ shrimp.
and were embarrassed!
Shrimp is not a word we use here in relation to food.
It's a bloody prawn, f'gudness sake
Well, that made me feel all warm and welcome. I think my husband and I will vacation in South America.
You're always welcome.
Just don't expect that "shrimp on the barbie" ****.

Thank you margo. I adore prawns. Actually, my husband lived in Australia for about 6 years and he loved it (pre-me). We probably will make a visit in the not so distant future to visit some of his old buddies.
