Naked Man Ad Riles Mass. Catholics
Fitness Company Calls Human Body Art

BOSTON -- A fitness club ad running in Boston magazine that depicts nuns sketching a naked man has triggered protests among some members of the Bay State's Catholic community, WCVB-TV in Boston reported.
The ad for the Equinox Fitness Club is running in this month's issue, and two Catholic organizations blasted the photo Tuesday, the Boston Herald reported, saying the Catholic League, the Archdiocese of Boston and the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts all decried the ad as offensive.
C.J. Doyle of the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts told the Herald that the ad "portrays a callous contempt for the sensibility of Catholics."
The fitness company responded with a written statement saying, "Our ad campaigns are based on personal motivation and fantasy, and throughout history, the body has been considered a form of art."
The company has only one gym in Boston.

C'mon Green Witch, if you've seen one nun you've seen them all.
As one who ws raised symmetrically CAtholic (in the One True catholic and APostolic Church) I must say tha CAtholics view the human body as completely "NAUGHTY", and, as such, the human body will lead to occasions of sin .
There are many examples of this as professed by the Bishops and College of Cardinals, who all view the male human body as the wellspring of sexual congress, lust, and dancing.
Thanks Dag. Those are pretty hot nuns. Actually, it could have been funny if they used wrinkled old nuns checking out the sexy "David", but with the sexy young nuns it does come across as sleazy.

we never had nuns looked like that when I was in school. Sister Atilla looked like Tutankhamuns mummy.
I was almost a nun, had signed up to be a postulant... and I have legs! These decades later I have a certain sardonic view (though I've known some excellent people who are/were nuns).
Never never never saw nun legs like that, or Ida been a problem child...
Oh, sorry, I didn't notice the NUN'S had legs.....

I should have said cheesy. I don't think it's a particularly good art photo, although, I imagine it supposed to be more of a fashion shot. The male is nice, considering he's advertising a gym, but the pretty nuns come across as a gimmick. It reeks of a bunch of 30-something ad people sitting around drinking Starbucks and saying "so how do we get their attention?" "I know- soft porn nuns..."
