I came home and there was Stinky, at the front door, suffering from a huge decrease in body mass, hungry and thirsty as all-hell!
He would no stop howling, and gulping water and horking food pellets; all at the same time.
I suspect he fell out of the tree and the deep snow broke his fall.
He was up for 10 days!
Thank Goodness!!!!! Yay !!!!!! Hurrah!!!!!!!!! Rejoice!!!!!!

Question: How come so many cats the northern hemisphere (well, the US & Canada, anyway) are called Stinky? Or maybe it's just an A2K thing?

I don't know for sure about other cats, but we named him Stinky because, try as we might, we have had no success in getting his butt to stop stinking.
Investigations into diet / health / environment seem to make no difference.........none of the other cats we've had over the years shared the same affliction.
The only thing I have not done is regularly expressed his anal glands, but any A2K'er is welcome to come on over have have at 'er.
They say being able to express yourself is important in a relationship.......
Seems like Madonna knows a thing or two about anal glands:
