I was outbid for the property next door.

I can stay at the lake for camping fees with the fifth wheel. nice place to be homeless if you have a camper to do it with...

went and looked at an abandoned house just off of downtown.

it is very very rough. unlocked and full of vagrants trash.

but it is a brick 2 story house with a decent garage and recent roofs...

I offered 6500 for it. that will leave me enough out of my inheritance money to put doors up, board the broken windows, and get the electrics and plumbing half ass functional...

gonna go look at a country property down south by the casino tomorrow. one that would require living in the fifth wheel for a while first...

Sorry I am just now peeking in. Dad had to have a heart cath today. He is still very weak and doesn't seem to be recovering from chemo very well. They found several blockages. He will have to have a quadruple by-pass next week. We have been busy trying to get him set for that.

I am sorry the deal fell through. It's all just crap. Can't believe that girl is doing this to you. Anyway....thoughts are with you.

I have the fifth wheel camper if I want it.

and I can store my 55 ford pickup there for the short term.

he thinks I am crazy if I don't buy the place in town, even if I never live a day there...

it is pretty inexpensive in today's market, even if it does need a ton of work. when I am done I can sell it if I can't stomach town life.

and I get to keep the fruits of my labor.

unlike my current situation.

I will know more tomorrow, but I may move the trailer down south and tend to a horse ranch for a year while I work on the townhouse in my spare time.

at least I feel like I have options again...

Any property taxes owed on the in town property? How far off of downtown?

gonna go sell it for run money.

then I'm getting picked up and taken halfway to Oklahoma to look at a welding job and some property.

and I'm bringing my big flashlight to go back downtown after that with mr vw and go under that house. just to make sure it doesn't have a problem I cannot fix...

gram is upset that I am taking mr vw instead of her.

I can't even imagine her trying to walk through where the vagrants have been.

and the stairs would be outta the question. I'm not sure if I want mr vw attempting the stairs until I have made certain they are fully safe.

gonna take my camera as well...

Good luck with viewing the house. Brick built, with a decent garage and roofed recently - it sounds too good to be true, even if it has had squatters who've left a lot of rubbish behind. How much land is there attached to it?

I have no idea what house prices are in America - a brick built, semi-detached house, with a garage, and a 40' x 40' garden, goes for about £220,000 here in the South-East of England. That's $344.9358 - is that about right?

You might want to have another look at that decimal point.
