@vonny,

so here's my little bump trick .... I bump ... bump ... then edit the first bump to put in something relevant to whatever thread it is ... then delete the second bump ... sometimes it keeps the page turned ... sometimes someone else needs to follow my bump bump edit delete lead

I now have 16 chickens.

the newest one is verra small. and follows it's momma around squeaking...

but itsa cute little bugger.

I am not set up for raising chicks, so we will monitor the progress. she has 3 more eggs...

because I will feel really badly when one of them is a rooster, and I find myself eating my grandchild roasted with mushrooms...

thinking back to my chick raising days, I think I better go put out a small water bottle for them.

the big chickens have two oil pans that they can drink from. the little guys won't be able to climb up to drink.

and mebbe a small feeder if the big girls will leave it alone.

if it weren't so soupy wet in there, I would try to build a separate caged spot.

mebbe saturday. or Sunday if I feel as bad after this show as I did the last one...

momma chicken about come unglued when I grabbed the chick and dunked its beak in the water, but the lil guy stayed there and drank a bunch.

and I gave them a little private stash of feed to chow down on and be able to stay over in the nest box area.

gram is excited, and hoping its a girl...

came home on break to check on my chickens and catch my breath.

busy morning. I was a crew leader, and kept over for lunch. (chicken tacos even)

my boss with the show wasn't real happy that I was rigging tonight instead of duplicating my morning backwards, but hey...

stopped and got some gumbo. gotta get my strength back. we are using the house stage, so it will remain in place and make my life hell for a coupla hours as the rigging falls.

oh well, I love my job...

Watched a programme the other night on evolution. Showed a chickens liver riddled with tumors apparently caused by a disease that normally would have killed some but not all it attacked, but now because of the antibiotics we're giving them it has mutated, evolved and kills all infected birds. Horrible.
