today has been a struggle on multiple levels.

but things got done. mostly...

my chickens can watch the garden, and likewise now when I am in the pond garden I can keep an eye on the girls.

and my outdoor shed area is a great idea I shoulda had last year.

I can't describe how nice it is to have big deep shade out where I am working. verra un-Kansaslike...

mebbe it's living in a tin can, or too many video games, but if I stay here and try to own the place, I think Ima start building a retirement cottage out back overlooking the pond.

got all my chores in order, gonna go weld vw for a bit before I take a cold shower.

my hot water heater croaked Friday...

storm is here. big winds and small hail.

but it quit as soon as I got the bonneville in the shop...

air is much too wet to work now, and I used some of grampa jack's plastic to cover all my panels over instead of moving them to my office.

Just cranked up the chain saw and cut up a humongo branch that fell in front of the van. Now I am charging the dang battery and about to haul that baby to a garage to get fixed and sell....

long day. went trying to round up funds to pay the power company.

got mostly there. two more days until cutoff...

gonna go tow a car to the crusher for a friend tomorrow. that should pay enough to get me over the top. for now...

it is less balmy for now. actually very pleasant for June in hell...

we are once again on the verge of the vw car show, and my trophy was just a nagging obligation until today.

I cornered mr vw and made him hunt through his scrap pile for eligible parts and pieces.

gonna go clean contact points so I can weld and fiberglass it all together tomorrow into a work of junk sculpture.

my preliminary model passed muster with him. (his name is on it again...) (long story)

if I can find my battry charger for the camera, I will try and shoot a photo before I donate it...

big show is Saturday.
