been cleaning river rock.

ugh...

almost done with the first bag.

I bought 3...

but tomorrow before it gets ungodly hot, Ima bond my lower falls so that everything flows where its s'posed to.

and looks fabulous...

also got some thick plastic from grampa jack to lay under my mulch in spots where nothing is growing, and nothing should.

tired of weeding I am...

gonna get my batteries charged up and see if I can take some decent garden photos for my friends and enemies to peruse.

@Rockhead,
Looks nice. Complicated though. If anyone can do it you can....

The place the vid was filmed is where I have laid my blanket in the sand most of my life. Alabama Point. Right across the channel there is where I usually hunker down. Going to the beach with the fam in two weeks. Smile YAY!

@mismi,
got my pond cleaned and ready for foam. letting it dry now...

I forgot to bring my cactus in last night, and the damn wind knocked two of them over, spilling them everywhere on my porch.

now I have spiny fingers again...

but they are re-potted...

gonna have me a bacon and egg salad, then go spray foam and glue some rock on.

I gotta admit that it's kinda cool that when I need an egg or 3 I can just walk out to the hen house and grab some.

still warm. and slightly sticky to the touch in a weird way...

I had to wait for Ethel to get outta the nest first.

my girls are starting to mature to full size, and are getting their beards and whiskers.

beautiful they are...

stole this from vonny on B's animal thread.

made me smile...

@vonny,
I gotta credit my boss the head rigger for the rocket stove. and the internets...

he asked me to look into them as he can't weld, and knows of my mechanical aptitude.

when I add the greenhouse to the shop, I will incorporate a mud bench on the adjoining wall with a rocket stove built into it.

prolly a next spring project if all stays the course...

I'm done with my pond foam experiment.

we'll label it a success for now. (it's still setting up)

but as long as it maintains water tightness, it looks ten million times better now. and much more natural...

can't test it until tomorrow.

@vonny,
actually, I learned how to be a stagehand in high school.

and to weld.

and I took vocational auto mechanics.

so for all the bashing of the amurrican edumacational system, it did all right by me...

the health care system, however...

@Rockhead,
Wish they'd taught me something useful in school - a classical education doesn't really equip one for much!

@vonny,
my folks kinda thought that 3 years of drama and stagecraft was a lark.

hah...

I wish I'd stayed with it through college like I wanted to.

oh well.

then I wouldn't be able to call myself a custom car builder...

and I'm still positioned ok with the local.

riggers are always in demand...

my orioles showed back up today. I'd written them off for this year.

kinda late they are...

and there must be at least 6 pairs of cardinals out today. redbirds everywhere.

@vonny,
If I can keep it...

my computer shut down from the heat.

100 degrees now with a steady 25 mph wind.

think convection oven...

the pond garden is by far the coolest spot on the property right now.

gonna go finish my gourd fence in the shade.

still fighting the computer not liking not being in an air conditioned space.

still hot...

got my new yard areas mowed out.

then got my sprinkler out and put a tune on it. got it raining around on the front yard now.

gonna go spread some plastic, and then finish tonight by sandblasting and then taking a megalong shower.

s'posed to be cooler tomorrow.
