Apparently not all of the structures they're finding on Mars are megaliths.

They are close-ups of sections of epidermis.

I've seen them before.

Here's another This one from a NASA site.

Would have posted the image, but all I got was that deadly little red x in a box.

The one other image I've seen which is similar is linked from Tom Van Flandern's website:

http://www.metaresearch.org/solar%20system/cydonia/asom/artifact_html/slide46.jpg

Tom is a former director of the Naval Observatory. The image shows rectangular structures, weathered on the windward side and retaining right angles on the leeward, and terracing.

We've all seen that image of the "face on mars"....

Well, here's another picture "they" kept hidden from the public for fear of mass hysteria....

The government does not want us to know that llamas inhabit Mars.

You've been warned.

The first one looks like a LIDAR reflection scan . LIDAR shows stratigraphic sections like the skin of an onion. Its used when multiple overflights are collected so that earth movement can be seen.
The shot is rather pixillated so its difficult to see the layering but, according to the crawler, its an example of "civilization" evidence.

Bull....

Mars anomaly research dot com, huh? Is that like Ararat anomaly? Same dipsh*ts, different locale?

http://www.risingroadtours.com/graphics/Causeway_c.jpg

Nature can't possibly produce geometric shapes like that ! ! !

Proof positive that Martian giants visited Ireland thousands of years ago, just before they flew off to Mount Ararat to hide Noah's Ark under a glacier.

What you really should claim is

Quote:
"we've all seen the old/original image of the face on Mars taken from the Viking probe in 1976."

The recent images are much higher resolution and are substantially more obvious:

Nature doesn't do straight lines and/or Bezier curves on a 2.5-mile scale.

I have no clue about gungas second pic. There are multiple explanations,
1 evaporite salt deposits cleave like that

2calcite cleavages (but that would imply a carbonate environment )

3volcanic felspar cleavages.

magmatic emplacements like the Devils Causeway are always emplaced underground and are layers that seep as hot magma , between existing rock layers. The vertical polygonal clevage faces are always formed at right angles to the strike of the original rock layers. This was the way that the contact zones were found that really fired up the Black Hills Gold rush.

Here's the real explanation. You wouldn't even think about building something like that with fitted blocks: you'd pile stones into the general shape you wanted and then put some sort of hard facing surface over it. That in fact is what you see in the image. The facing material has been weathered away and/or smooth on the windward side and is falling off in slabs visibly on the leeward.

That's right. Nature doesn't do straight lines except between two points an infinitessimal distance apart.

fm- where's the next gold rush? What's the point of coming on Ask an Expert if you can't find where the next gold rush is going to be?

Are you sure that isn't the Taco Bell dog? I knew that dog must have come from Mars.
