Well, I am going to have New Year's Eve dinner at the Volcano House, overlooking the Kiluea crater at Volcano State Park.

An AA friend is turning 65 so it's a combo birthday and New Year' Eve party. There should be about 20 people. I am wearing a long black dress with a black sequinned jacket, and am having my hair done up in a 1940's style.

What is everyone else doing?

I'll be wearing sequins too! How fun. I'll be at a party at the base of the Space Needle in Seattle. Happy New Year!

I'll be home in my nightshirt--probably home, in bed, in my nightshirt.

I tend to prefer staying home on New Years Eve. Too much frolicking in my youth, y'know. But.. I might wear a sequined extravaganza for the hell of it.

I bought my black sequined jacket seven years ago in NYC. It still has the pricetag on it.

We tend to go out for dinner on the 30th (tonight). The restaurants are empty, the service is great, and we don't feel rushed. Then on NYE we either go to a club for music or stay home for a quiet night of movie watching. This year we're doing movie night.

<we also go out for dinner on Feb 13th instead of the 14th for the same reasons.>

At home, too, I think. Wearing as little as possible.
It's predicted to be 41 C here (almost 106 F), so I'll probably go see a film (in an air conditioned theatre!) this afternoon, with maybe a light lunch beforehand ..... then back home & try to keep cool (with a DVD, perhaps).

We've had enough excitement lately, thank you. So we'll stay home with movies and eggnog, I think. SonofEva will probably insist we stay up 'til midnight again. He always gets a big kick out of watching the ball drop.

Quiet and uneventful is good.

I was just thinking Eva about that part of the country when you get freak weather. One of the biggest problems is that you don't got no snow removal equipment et al. I got caught in an ice storm in Texas many years ago. It was an absolute horror show.

Have a great snug-in for New Year's Eve.
