It was related to the expenditure of time and money on the business of "squealching", as Mr Auberon Waugh called it, compared to a quick wank.
There are different sorts of satisfactions. Heroin has its satisfactions I presume but most of us don't touch it for fear of the consequences. We do know, as a matter of general principle, that those providing much sought after satisfactions charge what the traffic will bear and, in view of the indebtedness going around, what it can be deemed to bear in the future, which post-dates the present satisfaction. Many a man has fallen into the abyss which yawns before him in regard to such an iron law of simple economics.
You're obviously male, spendius. You look at it from a male point of view and appear to carry a lot of cynicism around with you regarding this whole matter of relationships.
Either you've been badly bitten in the past and are afraid to come back out of your toy cupboard, you're just a man who simply doesn't care for the company of women on a long term basis, you're tired of life and see it as your duty to place a huge downer on everything, or you wish you had come out of the closet years ago, so that you could have experienced the joys of a good, solid relationship, albeit with someone of your own sex.
Relationships aren't all about one side being duped into giving everything and the other just taking all the time, you know.
