I bet, that was a diversion! What else it could be if not a diversion? Deadly virus H5N1 was detected a week ago only some 60 km to the north-west of Warsaw on several turkey farms near Plock. By now, over 6,000 birds have been culled. Needless to say, that this outbreak of bird influenza has shattered confidence of European wholesale buyers in Polish poultry producers and now they refuse to buy Polish turkey which is very painful for us in view of approaching Xmas, when market demand for turkey is traditionally high.
Then, who (or rather what country or countries) may be having a stake in this? I'd rather assume that elimination of Poland as a competitor may be to the benefit of other poultry suppliers of EU - other Baltic states like Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania! Then it must be so mean of them! I though we were in one team but now I see they are playing against us! Grrrr!(((((
poultry problems penetrate around the globe.
