not quite. i wrote some on citizenship law and history in Slovakia, but can't claim expertise beyond that. Historical memory in conflict and conflict resolution, that be my thang. And human rights theory and int'l law.

And I also own custom-made converse sneakers, very punk rock.

I am an undisputed expert in the reading of electric and gas meters (or at least I was until I retired). Laughing

So, send me all your meter reading questions my way.

Not everybody at once though, okay?

You are a trapeze expert (You left that out in your post) Very Happy

Oh, dagmaraka
I would consider you an expert or close to it. I didn't realize the range of expertise on this site.

Well, I am considered expert enough on children and trauma/attachment/abuse/therapy etc. to be an expert witness in court (if I do not manage to avoid such ordeal), so I suppose that counts for something.

I generally try to avoid too much involvement re those issues here, though...or at least arguing about it much.....who needs more work during down time? I will comment if I feel especially passionately about something, or if I think I might have something useful to say sometimes, though.

Other than that, English literature is what my first higher degree majored in....and what I love. But, sadly, that is something of a non-starter here, generally.

I suppose my major expertise here is in being silly.

PS deb, years ago , I used to date a girl who was a specialist attached to the PA State Police and was involved with child abuse and trauma cases. We split up because I couldnt be as much support as she needed, she couldnt leave her job at the doorstep, and I was too impatient. SHe was a very special person who needed someone that she could properly decompress with and I had too many hangups that she didnt need.
Ive grown up in the ensuing years.

Whatever they pay you, it isnt enough.

That's the MOST important thing you do! Ain't no one better here!

And we appreciate you for it. And they don't pay you enough!

I'm a bit over the expert business.

One of the people here, who had/has never been to Australia, decided to correct me on some aspect of Australiana in which I am quite well versed. She was manifestly wrong, but shouted louder, so I was amazed at her gaul or chutzpah, if not her intelligence, and let her be.

It was really a case of "if you can't be right, be wrong at the top of your voice!"

It's no wonder people are ill-informed.

And may she be as silly as can be.

Farmer, now there's a guy...

a guy I'm so happy to know for the glimpses I know. Really dear, besides the smartsies, no kidding.

Thankee for the mention.

FWIW, I studied Eastern Europe Studies, so I know some general stuff about 20th century history in the region, and a bit more detailed stuff about postcommunist politics (depending on the country). I work at a human rights organisation, and back in Holland I worked at a migrant/media NGO. Plus I have a fetish for election polls and results.

But my major expertise here is in being annoying.
