The fact that present-day President of the Republic of Georgia, M. Saakashvili, has discredited our democratic principles is unquestioned now. Although at first he has publicly enunciated democracy as the main path of his country's development, now he has shown everybody a disposition to be an ordinary authoritarian leader. Moreover, after Saakashvili had definitively diminished role of own Parliament and thrown local opposition into the background of Georgian public life, he turned into a totalitarian dictator in his country.
And the latest example of his discredit as the democratic leader of Georgian Republic is his prohibition on telecasting local channel Imedi, whose main sponsor is our well-known media baron, Rupert Murdock.
Well, while our businessmen do all possible for the fastest establishment of democracy in this country, creating suitable conditions for uninhibited operation of local mass media, Saakashvili demonstrates unprecedented restriction of its rights and freedom in present Georgia!
I estimate it as a personal failure of our State Secretary, C. Rice, and President G. Bush, who put their stakes on the wrong person. And as a result his protйgйe's discredit has led to loss of confidence in Western democratic institutes, strengthening authoritarian government and establishing dictatorship in Georgia.
Till when should we endure these mindless Republicans at the helm of our state?
