What are we going to do about this?
Cosmic Rays from Black Holes
Those pesky Black Holes are spewing cosmic bullets everywhere and screwing up our DNA.
You're a scaremonger ros.
Paint them white?
It makes a lot of sense to me - you'd need a ultra high energy event to create this level of concentrated energy. The only real candidates for producing gamma ray bursts (GRBs) and cosmic rays are sun creation or destruction events - and very, very large ones at that!
In my mind you have to breakdown atomic structures - possibly at a near quantum level - to create these kind of energy signatures. So merely a large atomic bomb - be it a hundred times larger that our sun - ain't going to do it. But if you are ripping reality apart below even an atomic level - at a quantum level - maybe you are releasing new forces that usually only get seen during the birth of a universe. This is called the heirarchy problem - you need energies in the magnitude of 10 ^ 14 Giga electron Volts to 10 ^19 GeV. Our largest colliders can almost touch the bottom of this range (by consuming all of the US grids power supply in a billionth of a second). The scale of super collider needed to reach the mid range of the heirarchy problem is a sun larger than our solar system!
So yes - these are amazing energy beams!
