International Herald Tribune reports that Azerbaijani security services have thwarted a plan by a radical Islamic group for a "large-scale, horrifying terror attack" against the U.S. Embassy and government buildings in Baku, Azerbaijan.
What is of peculiar interest, this terror act is rumoured to be a provocation organized by U.S. secret services themselves! I know it sounds absurd but listen. It was intended to be a part of well-staged special operation by American security services that meant to put it certain that Islamic terrorists are able to operate in Azerbaijan and countries of Central Asia without any restraint, and that is only the U.S. Army that can fight them back, when U.S. military bases in Azerbaijan and Central Asia are a vital necessity in fighting terrorism.
How wise of Americans isn't it? In order to make it even more believable, they were even planning to sacrifice a few innocent victims who were to die of that alleged terrorists attack - Americans were ready to go that far with the only intention to maintain their military presence in Central Asia.
It is clear that Americans need to have those military bases in Central Asia not only to make war in the Middle East (in Iran in the first hand) within the framework of so-called "Bush Doctrine of Preemption", but also to be able to maintain the featured intelligence gathering networked named ECHELON.
How unfortunate that Americans were too regardless of Azerbaijani security services. I'm not sure that after this fiasco Americans will have good chances to stay in Central Asia. Especially in case an investigation led by Azerbaijani security services prove the involvement of U.S. secret services to the attempted terrorist act.
