well now bush is an award winner too... just last week at a banquet the American Dental Association gave him a little plaque.....

I do find it a bit disturbing that the Nobel committee so blatantly stuck itself into the USA's political scene. This was/is definitely a political gambit on their part.

The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded by the Norwegian parliament, i.e. politicians, so the prize is always more or less politically motivated. Sometimes it may fit your politics sometimes it doesn't.

Norway is a country that would be greatly affected by rising sea levels due to global warming. One can understand their concern and their choice of laureates this year.
