About to start reading "The Purpose Driven Life"
The Hornet's Nest by Jimmy Carter. Does anyone know if his proceeds go to his non-profit Carter Center?
"War Dogs" by Robert Stone. The kind of book that makes me double check that the doors are locked before I go to bed...
Kingdom of Fear- Hunter Thompson
I haven't read him in a while, and have not read that one. I did enjoy Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail, at the time, and also F & L in Las Vegas, somewhat less as I remember but still, I finished it.
Just read a couple of Tom Clancy novels. Pretty typical of his style, excellent technical information, interweaving plot lines, and at times incredibly patronising to the reader, especially non Americans ones.
Just finished Jeffery Deaver's "The Devil's Teardrop", which was typical Deaver: interweaved plotlines, layers of puzzles, and no less than three surprises at the end. In other words, a damned good book.
Next: Star Trek The Next Generation: Imzadi.
Ordered from B&N today: R. A. Salvatore's War of the Spider Queen Book 3: Condemnation.
Just got a new Ray Bradbury collection - can't wait to get started.........
Intellectual Property, Employment Law, and The Hanbook of Texas Family Law, ugh.
Just about to finish if on a winter's night a traveller by Italo Calvino.
After that, either The Secret History by Donna Tartt, Baudolino by Umberto Eco, or Dance Dance Dance by Haruki Murakami - I don't know yet.

Joanne, you sure do know how to have a good time!
(C'mon now, no guilty pleasure novels on the side?)
I'm reading Grisham's The_Last_Juror. Kinda ho-hum, but some interesting descriptions of Mississippi in 1970. Also working my way through the Hornblower series.
Mutual Casuality in Buddhism and General Systems Theory-The Dharma of Natural Systems.
by Joanna Macy
Bloodcurdling Tales of the Macabre by HP Lovecraft. The man was a sick twisted literary genius.
I just read a book "The Secret Life of Puppets") that has an entire chapter on Lovecraft. I'd have to go along with BWShooter, though I might stop short of the genius label...
Right now? "The transparency of evil", by Jean Baudrillard, and "This side of Paradise", by Fitzgerald.
I recently finished "Dubliners", by Joyce, and loved it! He really knows human nature.

My friend would agree. That guy makes Steven King seem normal.
The Light Inside the Dark, by John Tarrant.
Interesting.
On my stack, at the top, are -
Prague by Arthur Phillips
Fugitive Pieces, Anne Michaels
Travels in Hyper Reality, Umberto Eco
The Seville Communion, Arturo Perez Reverte
Burning the Map, Laura Caldwell
Loyal Character Dancer, Qiu Xiaolong
No comments yet on any of them, all random choices from my used book store.
What the hell is Burning the Map doing on that list, Osso?
The other titles look interesting.
