there's a part of me that thinks if i post this in "philosophy and debate" it will be more meaningful. or maybe not. anyway,
i was going to post "state sanctioned torture" in the "Gross Things In Your Life: Rated for Gross Factor: Warning" thread, but didn't, and posted it here instead.
i was also angry that instead of talking about important things, every issue is turned into (and dismissed) as "[partisan] politics"
my question is, does anyone else think that dismissing countless important issues as "partisan politics" is itself a "political" act?
if enough people thought so, that horrid little sidestep might never be heard again, or at least, not for another generation, when some clever little piece of crap will revive it to get on with a new set of atrocities

thankfully, we've nearly done away with "unamerican" for the next 20 years. i'm guessing "politics" is next.
