There are probably some dodgy rental agencies, but any of the big companies should be OK - e.g LJ Hooker, Raine and Horne, Ray White, many others.
It does seem tht rental is a bit of a problem, though. A work associate is looking for an apartment, and there are dozens of people looking at the each place. You fill out an application form, and the agent or owner picks the best prospect.
The company you are to be working for may well have someone whose role is to help newcomers from overseas settle in. Make use of them is there is such. They may have contacts that can be helpful. There are also companies that specialise in finding accommodation for people coming from overseas. I'm not able to check these out at present.
To get to North Ryde, without a car, Epping would be good. There is a bus that goes from the city through Drummoyne.
Where you look at living sort of depends on the life you lead. Me - for instance - I wouldn't want to live around Epping - it's a great suburb, houses, trees, parks, schools, churches, etc., but it just wouldn't suit my lifestyle. For others, it's the perfect place.
Potential to move to Sydney; need help
Quote:All, Are there any rental agencies more reputable than others. Any suggestions are very welcome. Thanks. Sanjiv
In my two years experience of living in Australia in rental flats and houses, including one farmhouse in Nambour, the biggest names in real estate such as our Century 21 would be the ones to trust from this far away. You might ask people to tell you what are the largest in the Parramatta/North Ryde metropolitan area. By the time Nov. 17 gets here you will be visiting them in person, won't you? Good luck.
