riddle
i need an answer, please help!!
you are walking looking for paradise. you come to a "T" in the road (one way is paradise and one way is "hell") and there is a house. There are two twins that live in the house. they are identical in every way except one will always lie to you and one will alway tell you the truth. you dont know which is the way to paradise, so you stop to ask. only one twin will answer the door and you dont know which one it is. if you could ask this twin one question (must be yes or no question) on which is the way to paradise, what would the question be...
think about is, there is an answer out there, it is not a common sense question, its very logical!
thanks!
"If you attempted to commit suicide and missed, would the surviving twin tell me to go right or left?"
Ra* Rb
* = Road to paradise
Ask any Twin; "If I asked your twin if road (pick a road) Ra was the way to paradise would he say yes?"
Whatever he says; the truth will be the opposite.
For example:
If the Twin at the door is the truth teller he will say NO if it IS (because he knows his twin would lie)
If the twin at the door is the liar he will also say ?'NO' if it IS because he will lie.
You take the No as YES
If you asked the same question about Rb (which is NOT) the right road:
Both answers would be ?'Yes' which is a lie; so you know it means, NO.
Enjoy your trip!
