Why didn't the insidiously evil Fascists make sure the Democrats did not gain control of Congress? They're incompetent. They didn't rig the system enough.
This is a common theme within Progressive paranoia: Right-wingers are the diabolically clever Moriarty, and at the same time the foolishly incompetent Marcus.
They can't be one or the other of course.
If simply incompetent they wouldn't be the world ending threats the paranoid Progressives have devoted their lives to fighting.
If they were evil geniuses, then the paranoid Progressives would not be able to feel superior to them in
all ways.
