I have 3 chickens, two of which are currently moulting. Each day I get a yolkless egg. It is not as round as a normal egg, but rather long and narrow. I dismissed the first couple, but now that it is happening daily, I thought I better get some advice. Thanks in advance.
Yolkless eggs (aka "Wind Eggs") are pretty common for the first few weeks a pullet starts laying eggs. Their bodies haven't fully matured yet.
But getting them during a molt isn't unusual either. The birds's bodies are stressed and any stress can effect egg production.
I wouldn't be to concerned about it. The eggs should go back to normal in a few weeks after the molt is finished.
