The following link is an article on an illegal immigrant success story.

I think this is also a story about the quality of resiliency. Some people just overcome all odds, I guess.

Some people? As you say, odds are all with this story:
Quote:The arrest was announced several hours after another person accused in the grisly crime, Jose Carranza, 28, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, which include the attempted murder of a fourth student and robbery. His plea came as prosecutors tried to explain why the illegal immigrant from Peru was granted bail earlier this year when charged with assault and child rape.

Yes, I'm aware of this sad tragedy. I was talking about resiliency as part of some people's constitution. I was not talking about criminal elements in Newark, N.J.
I agree with you Foofie.
I wish more people could contribute stories about the majority of people in general, who work hard to get a better life.
High Seas...there will always be criminals and murderers. Do you think we are not aware of that?
Why not celebrate those that resist that and are better for it?
What happened in Newark is a tragedy no doubt. But that doesn't make someone elses accomplishment any less.
Chai - the issue here as originally posited was "the odds". Probability calculus. Only point I made was to agree with the original poster on the odds.
