There are three proposals submitted for what will be (to date) San Francisco's tallest building. Something like the proposed towers may or may not be built, but join in the fun and select a favorite. Feel free to name the skyscrapers as well.

Here's the article -
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/08/07/TRANSBAY.TMP

There is a slide show with the article. I'll just show the towers, but the article has more photos of the presentation illustrations and models; you can see more of the proposed interiors..

Let's see, I'll name them Ayee, Bee, and Cee for simplicity in the poll.

AYEE

I am looking at the building itself, the covered area at ground level is a little eh.

I'm going for Ayee, but really I'm not so crazy about any of them...

Bee looks like Saruman should be living in it-- what was the name of that tower? ....Isengard, that was it; yep, I think Bee is Isengard. Scary!

-------Edit: pardon me, any Lord of the Rings geeks who might be reading! I just looked it up and actually Orthanc was the name of Saruman's tower, not Isengard. How embarrassing... Smile

For no good reason, really, Bee looks more San Francisco to me, and Ayee looks more London. Would have to consider further about Cee...

Cee is a little hard to get a feel for from that funny angle, don't you think? I think I'd need a couple of pictures to form an opinion of that one in particular-- the shape looks very unusual, and I can't decide if it's unusual in a good way or a bad way...

I have a personal phooey against Cee (always with the gut responses!) in part because of all the curvey white bands in the accompanying photos on the link. I'll go back and stare at it again.

Well, the more I look at the photos of Cee, the more I don't like the base and the more I like the top part. Huh. The top part looks rather elegant. (OK, I'll send it to Paris outskirts...)
