Skip it, not worth the money. Basically what they are doing is pulling free over the air channels and aggregating them into a front-end program that you install on your pc. Most of the channels are cable access, wacky UHF channels you've never heard of, and rebroadcasts of DVB feeds. Some of the channels are even zoo webcams! If too many people are watching a channel you won't be able to get in to see it.

Basically in a nutshell what they are doing is taking a setup like this:
http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/FAQ.htm#What_are_Free_To_Air_(FTA)_channels

and just rebroadcasting it via the web. I bought it because for 30 bucks I thought I'd check it out. Picture quality is crap. It's only as good as the videos you'd see posted on cnn.com. They look ok in a small window but at full screen they are horrible. I was tempted by a one time payment for lots of free commercial channels (I was thinking basic cable via the web) but sadly the old axiom rings true. If it seems too good to be true it probably is. Save your $30 bucks.http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/FAQ.htm#What_are_Free_To_Air_(FTA)_channels

DTV4PC is just a Scam my husband got it & they won't refund. You can get same thing on internet when you go to the TV channels. No the Movies are not up to date they are back in 50's & all I saw were black & white movies. My advice is don't get it it is a wast of money. Evil or Very Mad

I'm not agree ...
You can trust me - before DTV4PC spend lot of time serching channels on WEB. Can say you - it's not easy to collect normal (worked) links they are without descriptions and not categorized. I try to compare other programs and see that DTV4PC have really one of the best worked DB of channels and send regularity updates with new channles. I like it...
Other thing it's Radio free addon (DR4PC) - never stop it Smile Nice thing - can find and listen ANY genre on mood.

Save yourself the money. DTV4PC is just a ripoff. Feed quality is rubbish, and content is even worse. The radio player is pretty good though, but doesn't justify the cost.

Not sure what you guys are complaining about, but I enjoy it. It's not like its monthly fee. I think it's worth the price I paid

Extra features
Agreed. DTV4PC is not a ripoff. It's actually alot better than some of the other Satellite TV software out there (which really don't use satellites - go figure). The channel updates, on demand links and other bonuses are pretty cool in addition to helping you find stuff you otherwise would never have found in the first place. I was stuck on the MLB channel constantly, but now the season's over Sad

I just got DTV4PC without doing any research only to be disappointed. I paid $30.00 and it is not even live streaming to what I can tell. I also noticed when buying it they had addons like OnDemand and Premium Channels for like $4.99 more each. These addons I think are BS because the software is just an exe file that includes all of that anyways, and does not even use a serial key to confirm that you bought the software (aka everything works and is included when you install the exe without authentication). The only thing that makes me feel like I was not ripped off is DTV4PC is associated with a company called TrialPay and DTV4PC is one of the things you can choose to get another FULL and LICENSED version of software such as Tracks Eraser Pro or Trillian Pro for free.

EDIT: I had directions on how to do something that was apparently fraud, and was contacted by trialpay to remove those instructions. I have gladly done so and apologize for any inconvenience caused. TrailPay is a fair company that follows through with their promises and I meant no harm to them.

Quote:
It has come to our attention that you have posted instructions online (www.able2know.org/forums/about100382.html) explaining to other consumers how they can fraud the TrialPay checkout system by using their DTV 4 PC receipt to receive another product for free.

While you might not have meant any harm in doing so, this is a strict violation of our terms and is actually legally considered to be fraud. We strive to provide a valuable service that allows consumers to receive a free item when engaging in an honest exchange with an advertiser, and when people take advantage of this, it is akin to stealing and hurts our ability to provide this service.

DTV4PC well worth the $$$$ Highly Recommend
I purchased DTV4PC and really am enjoying it. It opens up a whole new world - well actually opens up the world to you via your desktop.
Yes, if you are internet savvy you probably could find some of these websites - good for you.
For me I enjoy the icon on my desktop and the possibilities are endless.
I would definitely recommend DSL or high speed cable connection & a large monitor.
I can catchup on network shows that I missed.
Enjoy music from other countries
Local News from an area where I grew up - now I live 1500 miles away but still have friends & family there.
I have watched some first run movies like The Bucket List, Waitress, Over Her Dead Body, Sweeney Todd & many more and I just installed it 3 weeks ago. NO HIDDEN FEES or SUBSCRIPTION COSTS
I would definately recommend it. Well worth the $30 - also comes with a $18 rebate. Net Price $12

DTV4PC
I saw their add too and sent them an email asking which foreign channels they offer as there is no information on their website. So far - no reply. That tells me that this is not a reputable company.

I have DTV4PC on my computer and I paid $39.95 and I have been really enjoying it. But at the moment it won't recognize my internet connection. I'm not sure what's up with that. I hope those people will answer my email so I can get back to it.

DTV4PC
Confused Hi I am new to this forum, DTV4PC cost me around 10 GBP for the basic package recommended by Ashampoo which was my main reason for purchasing this. In the three months that I've had the program I have found most channels are loops much of which is in my view trash unless you would like to catch up with news around the world on a loop normally
the previous days news.

Has anyone paid for the extras if so what do you get?

May the buyer beware!! Remember you get what you pay for!!
