Unfortunately, I have held all my animals while they died. Starting with my very first pet:

hamster
then bird, cat, rat & cat
Now I have the present dog & cat

That is the tough part. But, I rather hold them & comfort them. You see it in their eyes imo. They know.

I saw it in sadie's eyes when I fixed her toys for her she pulls them when playing tug of war. Sometimes they rip so I sew them back together. The other night I sewed two or three toys together for her and I knew she appreciated it because when I was done she just stared at me while laying down. Tonight she brought me those exact toys to play with in the order that I repaired them Exclamation Anyone that say's dog's aren't smart has never had their pet's love for them Laughing Idea
