Colloquially known here as a "Big Toe Biter" an aquatic beetle. I have seen it (or something similar) occasionally in our local swimming pool when i was a lad.We used to frighten the little kids with stories of it bighting your toes whilst you were swimming.

no idea of what it really is.

I would call it a pine marten, but the other names would, I'm sure, do as well.

Someone posted this insect on another thread. They say it's from Pakistan. I haven't been able to identify it yet. The author doesn't know what it is either, it's a mystery bug.

Rosborne, That walking fish looks mighty familiar. Can't find it--yet. As for the bug. Fuggedaboutit. Never saw such a thing in my life.
