is it bad to "fight sleep"? I know ive been told kids do it but is it immature in a teen to fight sleep because you don't want to sleep?

Yes, if your body is literally telling you it wants to go to sleep and you are purposely fighting it, than you are messing with your bodies natural sleep/wake cycle. It is beneficial to try and wake up and fall asleep about the same time every day.
