"Add a synced photo" when changing Cover Photo

When changing a cover photo on my FB page, I find an option to "add a synced photo." What happens if I do that? Does it change with what I have synced on my Android? If so, how often does it change? I can't find any info on this. In all topics, Facebook help is sketchy at best.

Photo Syncing

Photo syncing lets you save the photos on your phone to Facebook privately, then choose which ones to share.

Do you back up your Android on Cloud?
