Once again, calling everyone. Ah, I was hoping my long time friend elBert, Bert would visit us here.

The only George who is with us now is my Roman Catholic friend, so here is one for him:

and, one for edgar/Mark.

I had no idea about the navy as all of my family were in WWI, II, etc.

That song was my first introduction to it.

When I was in the Navy we used to mop the boat every day and in the evening go into town and say, "Ahoy," to everybody. One time we went to Hawaii, Japan, the Philippines, Midway, Dutch Harbor, Seattle and Vallejo, before returning to Long Beach. Then we spent about a year in dry dock.

@edgarblythe,
edgar/Mark I love Cindy by dear Eddie Fisher, and thanks again for your comment and personal acknowledgement.

I remember Eddie also singing Oh My Pa Pa. It's really bothers me when talented people are gone too soon. <sigh>

Saying good afternoon with two songs as I need to do a few things here in our
Florida radio station.

First, The Lettermen:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ6CX_k8fF8

Now, Andrea:

As edgar knows, one doesn't have to be a theist to enjoy this kind of music.

Wonderful having England and his Punch with us.

Back in 1887 there were rumblings of war.

Quote:
Trio for Germany, Austria, and Italy.

" If we three but do agree,
How very happy all the rest will be!"

It's Monday here in our Florida radio station, and a bit chilly.

Latin George, hurry back dear friend, and I'm glad that you liked that Sunday hymn. What a surprise to hear "the carpenters" version of Rainy Days and Mondays. Didn't know him, but he did it quite well.

Hurry back Punch man. "with three you get egg roll?" Love that quote, buddy, and you hurry back as well.

Hope I didn't miss anyone as I am a bit groggy this morning.

Three songs for today:

First Lost Horizon trailer:

Now, a tribute to a birthday man:

Ah, Mr. Creator, thanks for your comment, dear friend. Loved Susie Darlin' by Robin Luke. What a wonderful memory of Hawaii.

Going to say good after noon now with two songs.

We've already done a slide show of Vincent's art, but I think this on says it best:

Nice cartoon that shows the Victorian approach to automation. The boat race is an annual event between Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Like 1950/60s visions of cities on Mars by 2000 this vision of the future is similarly flawed.

Once again, calling everyone. First another birthday guy:

Herb Albert:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deonuNSpmLs

Now, a funny memory. I got up with the German Measles and
couldn't do The Highwayman and I was glad, because I got
stage fright.

Then my Daddy told me about the guy he knew who did this one:

midnight, in his guarded tent,
The Turk was dreaming of the hour
When Greece, her knee in suppliance bent,
Should tremble at his power;
In dreams, through camp and court he bore
The trophies of a conqueror;
In dreams, his song of triumph heard;
Then wore his monarch's signet-ring;
Then press'd that monarch's throne -- a king:
As wild his thoughts, and gay of wing,
As Eden's garden bird.

He kept getting everything wrong and Daddy said:

Grease her knees one more time, and maybe it will work: Smile
