Well, today is Leo Tolstoy birthday, and I am always interested in ethnicity:

I wonder if this gal is any kin to him:

and, y'all, from one his his popular books, a movie trailer.

Going to say good afternoon now, as I have some stuff to do. Smile

Great having my friend from Brooklyn with us as well as Latin George earlier.

Ah, I miss roses here. <sniff>

Also good to know my long time friend Roger is doing well.

Good Saturday morning, WA2K. Let's listen to some original versions,
First, the original version by its composer:

A much mellower version than the later "We Five".

One more. You probably remember Janis Joplin's later version.

Erma Franklin -- Piece of My Heart

good morning from our radio station here in Florida.

Latin George, I love Walk Don't Run by Johnny as well as Another Little Piece of My Heart by Erma.

Didn't sleep too well as I was (and still am)concerned about tropical storm Erika.

to calm myself, I listened to this lovely hymn:

My dear friend Ursula was concerned as well and contacted me to see how things were going here.

well, y'all, it's still a bright and sun shinny day here.

Here are two songs for the noon time here:

First, a birthday man:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gwl29diADw

Now, the lyrics:
Summertime, and the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy's rich and your ma is good-lookin'
So hush little baby, Don't you cry
One of these mornings you're gonna rise up singing
And you'll spread your wings and you'll take to the sky
But 'til that morning, there ain't nothin' can harm you
With Daddy and Mammy standin' by

Love that one.

Now, another:

Good Sunday morning from here is our Florida radio station.

Morgan, I loved Maroon5 doing Sugar. Didn't know them so thanks once again for the introduction.

NekoNomad, I guess you know Long Black Veil was about Rudolph Valentino. Love that song, dear friend.

Well, there was a terrible lightning and thunder storm here last evening, so naturally I didn't sleep too well.

I first learned about Valentino when I saw the remake by Anthony Dexter. That sent me searching for the original, naturally.

Here it is:That's the original Rudolph watching, of course.

Kitty Wells birthday is today, and this one is about her:

Hurry back, guys. Smile

Ah, me. More electrical problems. I may have played this before, but it's worth playing twice. It's our hymn for Sunday. One does not have to be a theist to appreciate this lovely one:

It reminds me of our former neighbors Sharon and Tim. (miss them)

@jcboy,
Same to you, dear Morgan. Hope you like K.C. and The Sunshine Band. Smile

Talk, Talk, It's My Life was fabulous, especially the visuals.

Your life song reminded me of this one. It's the first one that I heard by Billy Joel:

Hope this works, y'all.

Just a reminder to all of you out there. Although I appreciate the thumbs up, we don' t use the rating system here as it does not match the formal of a radio station.

more bad weather, y'all, so I'm saying good afternoon with a beautiful Faun. I hope Olivier 5 will provide us with the poem by Mallakme.

Once again, calling all.

It looks as though I am the only surviving member of my Virginia family. My older sister passed away, but I still remember happier times when we sang this song together at a theater on stage:

and, y'all, one of my favorite birthday guys:
