Another birthday guy, then one of my favorite poems.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHvDoQl4OGA

William Wordsworth:
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Another tune by Laurent Voulzy for you, Letty, in duo with actress Véronique Jeannot.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LgYEz0Td1k&list=RD6LgYEz0Td1k

Translation in essence:
All the songs tell the same story, about a boy and a girl...
It starts with desire, then pleasure, then pain cranks in...
And all that makes for found memories...

@Olivier5,
Mon Ami, Welcome back. Love that song and the idea behind it. Desire, pleasure, and pain is so correct. Thanks again for your translation and explanation.

Another birthday man and his friend.

Odd, I know most of the melodies and don't know why I know them.

I never hear a violin that I don't think of JL Nobody. Smile

Good Tuesday morning from here in our Florida Radio station.

Ah, my dear friend Roger, Love Welcome to the Hotel California as well as Olivier 5's All I Have to Do is Dream.

Had a sleepless night yesterday, so I found this and played it and it helped:

There are English lyrics to that, but I couldn't find them.

Now, a birthday man and a song for him by his cohorts:

Well, most of my ancestral knowledge came from my older sister.

I learned a lot from her.

She introduced me to Al Jolson via Larry Parks. Eugene McCarthy black listed him.

Going to say good afternoon now with three memories.

First, Al doing Sonny Boy. I think most of us know that was about Sonny Bono. He may have been murdered.

We hope that the appropriate parties will re-open the case involving Sonny Bono's death and we will one day know the truth. In the mean time - "the beat goes on."

Now, y'all, two songs by this great group:

First, Down on the Corner.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJAjOlp4Tas

Now, Bad Moon Rising. Used to think this was about
Werewolves, but it may have been about Viet Nam.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_Psclfgfhw

Talked to my niece and she is going to plant a rose bush for Annie on her burial spot.

From Letty with happier memories and love to the world.

I can't listen to the music from here, but I do like "Bad Moon Rising"
and "Down on the Corner".

I'm not sure that a song has to be about anything.
