What makes you mad?

I don't always speak English in public because my husband isn't a native speaker. I figure that it's no one else's business what we're talking about so it doesn't matter which language we speak to each other. Or are you so egocentric that you think we might be talking about you?

Anyone who objects so strenuously is obviously a bigot. In Southampton the are a lot of Poles, I hear Polish being spoken all the time. I don't speak Polish, I doubt they're talking about me so what's the problem? Racists hate being shown up as racists, so they couch their racism, it's always focussed on Muslims and 'illegal' immigrants, because they know what they really are. To misquote Oscar Wilde, it's 'the hate that cannot speak its name.'
