My natural hair color was brown-auburn. Now it's dirt brown with areas of underlying gray, and some grey streaks. Which is ok, because at my age, my old glossy rich hair would look rather faux, what with my more aged face. I think of the change as a kind of weathering, a patina. I wish my hair were glossier, but that tends to diminish as estrogen does. So it goes.

When I was a wee jes it was platinum blonde. Now it's mousey brown and grey, and I'm very glad that Miss Clairol was invented.

I am dark brown...sort of that brown sugar color...I have gone as light as sunkissed brown though...didn't like it much though.
