I have just been doing these crosswords, for 17a I have italian vermouth, 12 d I have spoil, I have little bits of all the crosswords done and will tackle them again tomorrow. Time for bed.

on the five minute fun 1 I have found several differing spellings for TUTENKHAMEN, TUTANKHAMUN, TUTANKHMAN I wonder which one as they all fit.

You have said it, 7 down is (est) as in biggest or largest , 8 down is (ess) as in hostess or priestess.

Hi shirley, sometimes it helps if you google other bits of the clue, like the first and last lines in this particular question, I think thats how I got the answer this time.
