This is the clue and it is the name of a whiskey.
Sure to avoid Lady Chatterley's lover?
CAN ANYONE HELP?
How many letters, and have you got any of them? Does the clue spell "whiskey" thus? That might help, because the proper stuff (I'm biased!) from Scotland is spelled "whisky", (also the Canadian stuff), whereas the Irish and North Americans generally spell their products "whiskey".
Especially since the clue is "Sure to avoid Lady Chatterley's lover?" with a question mark, I suspect the solution is "The Famous Grouse". The grouse is a game bird, and Lady Chatterley's lover, in the novel of the same name by DH Lawrence, was Mellors, the gamekeeper of the Chatterley estate.
Re WHISKY quiz
Its a scottish quiz so its probably spelt WHISKY, sorry.
No letters yet, its a quiz
moans on the twelfth is another of the clues and grouse is the answer to that one
Wasn't Dr Mellors that liked "to drink whiskey to avoid alcoholism"?
