I'm thinking Snape, too, pretty much for certain....

I can't see Ginny dying, sounds too bleak (maybe, though-- JK does like to shock us, of course).

I've been wondering if Neville will turn out to be more significant than he seems, and possibly he'll have to sacrifice himself.

I really wrestled between Ginny and Neville. Mostly because Ginny has already been imperiled but I still vote Ginny.

the easiest way for rowling to hold true to her promise (no more books) would be to kill harry

i'm still thinking he's one of the horcruxes

i agree about neville, i think this novel will be his chance to shine

i figure snape will die in some manner that restores his honour

Oh no. She can't kill Harry. That's why I went for Ginny instead of Neville because if Ginny, the love interest, gets it it will be bad times for Harry.

Plus, that would start things up between Harry and Ron.

It sounds like everyone is thinking Snape. By having him die we'll really get to find out what side he's been on.

I waited for Petunia to play a bigger part in the last (6) book because there were so many hints in 5 about who/what she really is. That's why I'm pegging her to die in this one.

I heard an interesting theory, relating to the is-Harry-a-Horcrux thing, and whether he'll have to die: That he *is* a horcrux, but he won't have to die to get rid of Voldemort-- but he will have to give up his magical abilities!

I thought that was an interesting take on it...that seems to satisfy the feeling that Harry will have to really go through some significant loss in this last one, but without him having to die. I hope she doesn't kill him! I really don't think she would-- as Keith Olberman pointed out, even though the books will be over, there are still more movies to come-- so it doesn't seem like a very smart move for her to make a whole lot of fans horribly angry by killing off her main character, does it?

I wish I could take credit for it, kicky, because I think it was one of the most brilliant comic bits ever. It was on SNL with Steve Martin and Bill Murry as the tourists.

Cyphercat - that's a great theory. That would completely make sense.

On no margo, no! It really can't be Harry. I think the book will end on an upbeat. Really, it has to.

I am not as cool as farmerman, dyslexia, or kickycan.

I actually have been reading Harry Potter books. I have two sons who probably would not have become readers if it hadn't been for Harry Potter.

I do think Harry is a horcrux, but Hermione will figure out a way to destroy the horcrux without Harry actually dying.

Oh, lets face it.. Hermione will be pregnant with Harry's child when Harry dies.


It ends the series but the next one starts on Ron's eleventy-first birthday when Voldemort returns from Mt Doom.
