MY FAVORITE POEM

Hi, Catelina, and welcome to A2K. I have never read one thing by Korean poets until now. Thanks for posting this one.

Korea was really really poor.
but high class people was rich.
so sparrow means commen people.
they worked very hard all day but they earned a little.

Those are great. I am not familiar with Korean poetry either, but have read some Japanese poetry. My brother married a Japanese woman (just this weekend!) and asked me to write a song for them and sing it. I wrote it in 3 verses of English haiku:

One love, two heartbeats
Two hearts now moving as one
to the end of time

Two lives, now moving
Hand in hand to a future
of their own design

Two souls, one heartbeat
Sound love at the crossroads where
two paths become one

It's not terribly complicated but it was appreciated very much by the bride and groom.

Perfect 5-7-5, Cav. and quite good. You ought to post more in the Original Writing category.

I also loved the poems, Cat. If you can stand it, please translate some of the longer ones.
