electrolysis(using electricity to break the molecule) of water is endothermic. what does that indicate about the bond energy in the reactant and product? what happens when this reaction is reversed?

At room temperature--it is usually explosively exothermic.

At very low temperatures (cyrogenic) is can produce electricity as per half cells--that is the principal of a hydrogen fuel cell.
