For an exam we were given this riddle. you will know this poem when X marks the spot where this athlete shoots up to the dam! If anyone know who wrote the poem, or waht poem it is I would greatly appreciate your help.
Just airing my thoughts.
"Athlete shoots up to the dam."
Salmon?
Possibly a poet named Salmon? At a stretch, it could be Salmand Rushdie? (he wrote some poetry - "The ground beneath her feet", etc)
There is an Andre Salmon, but unless this is homework for a French lesson, I don't think he fits the bill.
Any other ideas out there?
This is a total stab in the dark -- could it have something to do with Amsterdam?
The only thing I can think of is Hans Brinker -- kind of a loose connection but it's the best I can do.
Is there a famous poem about Amsterdam?
